Smoking And Your Health

While most people know about the risks of lung cancer and lung cancer related illnesses that occur due to smoking many people are not aware of the other effects smoking can have on your health. Cigarette companies have done well over the years to hide just exactly how much smoking can negatively impact your health. That’s one reason why the electronic cigarette such as green smoke are becoming more popular. Here is a look at the different ways smoking can affect your health.

Besides damaging your lungs and putting you at serious risk because of all the nutrients and vitamins it destroys every time you light up. By ridding your body of these essential vitamins and nutrients your body so desperately needs you not only become at risk for getting lung cancer but it also lowers your immune system making you more susceptible to common colds and the flu. Smokers are also known to have higher blood pressure as well as higher cholesterol levels than those who do not smoke. Besides lung cancer, other more serious effects that come about from smoking include blood clots, emphysema and heart disease. This can lead to other issues such as poor circulation, angina, put you at the risk of having a stroke and heart attacks.

Cigarettes contain hundreds of dangerous chemicals and substances such as tar which is the number one substance that causes cancer. One way to cut out the toxins is by switching to the e cigarette which I’ll be discussing soon. Smokers are also more prone to periodontal disease which can cause your gums to recede and your teeth to fall out.

Besides all the negative effects smoking has on your inside it is also affects your outward appearance as well. People who smoke get paler skin and are more prone to getting wrinkles particularly around the mouth. The reason for this is because it diminishes the amount of Vitamin A that you receive. It also can cause skin discoloration around your fingers from years of smoking as well as cause your teeth to become yellow.

With all the negative effects smoking has on your health it is never too late to quit or cut down through the ecigarette. Even for those who have been smoking for several years can greatly benefit from quitting smoking and many begin to see changes in their health as quickly as one week after quitting smoking. For more information on special ways you can quit smoking you can talk to your doctor about special methods he or she may be able to recommend for you. Don’t forget to look out for my e-cigarette review in a few days where I’ll be talking more about the electric cigarette.

Take care. Christine.

electronic cigarettes Hey, I'm Christine and I was a smoker for 17 years. I heard about electronic cigarettes and decided to try them out. I tested about 8 of them before I found one I liked and actually worked. So I created this site to help other people who want to know more about electronic cigarettes but don't want to have to go through the trial and error of finding out which one works like I did.
